Emotion-Focused Therapy
Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based treatment that views emotions as helpful guides for our well-being. Some people have difficulty feeling their emotions. Other people may feel stuck with painful emotions that are difficult to manage or that feel out of place. Culture also heavily influences how emotions are valued and expressed. These can make it difficult to use emotions for the helpful information they provide to guide us toward well-being.
There are several interventions in EFT that help to change these difficulties with emotions and transform painful, unhelpful emotions.
EFT is also geared toward helping each client access and use their own unique, innate strengths and capacities to heal. EFT is also very collaborative in that the therapist works with each client to understand their unique experiences and needs.
Finally, the EFT therapist strives to be highly caring, supportive, empathic, and attuned to each client’s lived experience. It is within an emotionally safe therapeutic relationship that the most change is possible.

Insurance:
I am currently not taking insurance. If you would like to work with me, please be aware that our sessions will be billed as out-of-network, with the full fee for service due at the time of our appointment. However, I am happy to provide you with a super bill that you may submit to your insurance carrier to request reimbursement. If you choose to obtain my services as an out-of-network provider, please be aware that reimbursement from your insurance carrier is not guaranteed.
Please contact your insurance carrier to verify your specific plan’s out-of-network benefits and requirements.

Payment will be collected at each session through debit or credit card. My system requires you to keep a debit or credit card on file, which will be set up through my electronic health records system when you first begin services. Your card will only be charged for services received.
Teletherapy
Teletherapy vs In-Person Sessions:
Teletherapy has been shown to be just as effective as in-person appointments for a variety of mental health concerns.
Requirements:
To meet with me via teletherapy, you must have access to a computer, phone, or tablet with stable internet connection. You will also need to meet from a private and well-lit location that is free from distractions. I will also have to note your address at the time of our teletherapy appointment for my records and in case of an emergency.
PSYPACT:
I am a member of Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT), which authorizes me to provide teletherapy to individuals located in any of the following states and region: AL, AZ, AR, CO, CNMI, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY, & Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Due to the nature of PSYPACT as an interstate service, treatment through PSYPACT is not covered under health insurance. All fees for care under PSYPACT must be made out of pocket. For individuals residing in Washington State, out-of-network coverage may be available – please verify this with your insurance carrier.
